We request the Tailiwse fee from prospective parents after the breeder verifies your application. We also encourage you to add your card details in advance. This helps reassure our verified breeders of genuine interest.

Once a breeder has approved your application, we take the funds from your account. Our fee is 100% refundable if you are not happy with the breeder or puppy upon connecting and you are free to apply and connect with someone else.

What does our fee cover?

The fee of £95 (+ VAT) helps us to continue our work of matching the best breeders with perfect new homes for their puppies. By continuing to verify breeders and providing a safe space for new puppy buyers online, we are getting closer to stamping out puppy farming and improving the welfare of puppies in this country ❤️

Our team of dog experts (including experienced breeders) reviews, screens & verifies all dog breeders before they can list a litter with us. Our fee covers costs for our verification process, managing the platform and helping spread the word on responsible breeding and puppy buying practices.

It also shows commitment to breeders knowing that you are actively invested in the puppy buying process and not simply 'shopping around'.

All Tailwise breeders also offer lifetime support to anyone who homes one of their pups.


Is it safe and secure?

Yes. Payments are facilitated by us and we use a third-party payment provider called Stripe which is fully regulated and encrypted. They provide industry-leading TLS 1.2 encryption to keep all of your data secure & private.


How do I pay the Tailwise fee?

When you visit your Tailwise dashboard, you'll see an "Add card details" button at the top of the screen. Adding your details early shows breeders that you are actively interested in buying one of their puppies, and also means that once you are approved by a breeder, you can move forward more quickly in bringing your new puppy home!

If you don't add your card details in advance, you'll receive an email notification once you're approved by the breeder. This email will take you directly to our payment provider, Stripe, where you can pay the fee. You'll also get reminders and be able to pay via your dashboard.


What happens next?

We encourage the breeders to reach out to prospective puppy parents and make a decision as soon as possible. If a breeder rejects or you cancel your application, you will be refunded and you are free to connect with other breeders.

If you are not happy with the breeder or litter you have chosen, you can also cancel up until the deposit is due for a full refund on the Tailwise fee.

Payment FAQ

Is the Tailwise fee refundable?

The fee is 100% refundable if you decide you no longer want to proceed with the litter or breeder and cancel your application. If a breeder verifies and then cancels your application, you will also receive a full refund.

I'm not ready to pay a fee until I have seen the puppies or spoken to the breeder.

Once you have connected with the breeder, they should get in touch with you relatively quickly via the contact details you provided on your application.

If a breeder approves your application before you have spoken to them directly, we encourage you to get in contact with them. The breeder's contact details become available on the application details page once your application has been approved.

Reminder: You are free to cancel your application at any point after verification for a full refund if you are not happy or decide that the breeder or litter you have chosen is not right for you.

What happens if, after connecting with the breeder, I don't want to proceed?

You are free to cancel your application after a breeder has approved it and you will receive a full refund and be given the opportunity to connect with other breeders and litters if you wish to do so.

I've paid the Tailwise fee but I've not heard anything from the breeder that I've connected with.

We're really sorry about that. Please email [email protected] and our friendly team would be happy to reach out to the breeder and give them a little nudge for you.

In the unlikely event of a breeder not responding to your application at all, you are free to un-match from them and pick another breeder and litter.
